Nicki Minaj abruptly canceled the New Orleans leg of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour on Tuesday, just hours before it was set to begin.
The Smoothie King Center issued a statement to social media, advising fans and ticket holders of the abrupt change.
“Due to doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj must reschedule her NOLA show tonight,” the venue posted. “As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to run the risk of getting others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show they deserve.”
Information about the nature of her illness and her current condition were not provided at this time.

Ticket holders were informed that alternate arrangements were in the works.
“We are working diligently to find a new date, so please hold onto your tickets, and we will inform you all soon,” the post read.
Fans immediately expressed their discontent in the comment section of the post, with many noting that they should have been informed well in advance, rather than mere hours before the show was set to begin.
