There’s A George Michael Documentary In The Works
Before George Michael unexpectedly died on Christmas day, a documentary of the widely popular British singer was already in the works. Now “Freedom,” as it has been titled, is being re-shot to include the pop star’s unfortunate passing.
Kate Moss, a close friend to the late singer, is playing a major role in the making of the upcoming documentary and was recently spotted at Michael’s north London home with a film crew, according to The Sun.
Producers of the film are hoping it will both serve as a tribute to Michael and give fans a deeper look into the life of the artist who preferred to live in private.
Sony Music is reportedly behind the documentary that is being made by Michael’s best friend David Austin, The Sun reports. In addition to Moss, who lived nearby Michael and spent a lot of time with him, the film is expected to feature other major artists who were close to the singer.
“Kate hardly ever does interviews, especially not on camera, but this is something she’s really passionate about,” a source said. “It will be an incredible tribute to George’s life.”
The documentary, which will also feature footage from Michael’s final live performance, will air on television later this year.
