Wahlberg would have everyone in New England believe that he’s the biggest Patriots fan on the planet, but we all know after last year that nothing could be further from the truth. When the Atlanta Falcons led the Patriots in Super Bowl LI, Wahlberg bailed on his team and left the stadium. Since then he’s tried to make excuses for being a fair weather fan, but the story just doesn’t add up. Now, a year after being exposed as a fake fan, Wahlberg’s other team will face off against the Patriots begging the question, who will Marky Mark pull for?

Wahlberg hasn’t weighed in on the Super Bowl matchup since Championship Sunday, but it’s only a matter of time. Expect to see the “Patriots Day” actor make an attempt to redeem himself to New England fandom this year in Minneapolis, but don’t be surprised if he tries to play it both ways. After all, he’s more of an Eagle than he ever will be a Patriot.
