We Should All Be Hoping Baker Mayfield Is A Success In Cleveland

David Hookstead | Reporter

Baker Mayfield has now gotten some reps as the quarterback of the Cleveland Browns, and I’m hoping it all works out well.

I’ve been fairly critical of Mayfield in the past. His exploits and attitude haven’t been something that I’ve overlooked.

That doesn’t mean, however, that we can’t be cheering for the guy. For the first time in a long time, the Browns look like they actually have a quarterback who cares.

The superstar Heisman winner has had to fight uphill battles since getting to college. He bounced from Texas Tech to Oklahoma, and solidified himself as a college football legend.

I have no idea if Mayfield will be a success with the Browns. Nobody does. But the man can play football.

Blue collar stories of success is what America is all about. Mayfield turning Cleveland into a winning organization would be one of the greatest success stories in sports in the past decade. Hopefully, he can get the job done. At the same time, watching a massive dumpster fire would be unfortunate but highly entertaining.
