Oklahoma Star Quarterback Gets Shocking Amount Of Money From MLB Team
Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray has reportedly reached a deal with the Oakland A’s worth around $5 million after being drafted ninth overall in the MLB draft.
MLB Network insider Jon Heyman recently tweeted, “Kyler Murray and the A’s have a deal that guarantees him close to $5M and allows him to play football (he’s a QB and could be Baker Mayfield’s replacement) at Oklahoma for 1 year.” (SLIDESHOW: These Nearly Naked Women Love Baseball)

I might be in the minority of opinions here, but I think it’s beyond stupid for Murray to ever pick up a football again. Baseball is substantially less intensive on the body, the money is better and CTE isn’t a concern. (SLIDESHOW: These Sexy Women Love Football)
Murray isn’t making a penny playing football for the Sooners. Not a single dime, and baseball is clearly where the money is at for him. One bad read option, and Murray’s ACL could be history. He tears his ACL, and his MLB and all the money that would come with it in future earnings is out the window.
He needs to stick to baseball and pretend football doesn’t exist anymore. He might love playing quarterback for the Sooners, but the rewards simply aren’t worth the risks.
