Johnny Depp’s upcoming movie “City of Lies” has been pulled, and no new release date has been set.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the following late Monday:

Johnny Depp’s Notorious B.I.G. thriller City of Lies has been pulled from the schedule a month before it was set to hit theaters.

The movie, formerly known as LAbyrinth, was slated to open Sept. 7 in North America by Global Road Entertainment. No new date has been set for the film.

The move comes amid a series of woes for the actor, including a damaging Rolling Stone profile in June, that make any publicity campaign tough.

Things just keep getting worse and worse for Depp. I can’t remember the last time I saw an actor fall this hard and this fast. Plus, I was actually excited to see this movie. It looks pretty interesting, and you can never get enough Tupac and B.I.G. content. (RELATED: JOHNNY DEPP’S LAWSUIT AGAINST HIS FORMER BUSINESS MANAGERS HAS BEEN SETTLED)

It’s almost difficult to put into words just how bad Depp’s life has appeared to fall apart. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has reportedly blown through nearly $650 million. It’s such a mind-boggling number that it’s almost impressive. (RELATED: HOW IN THE HELL DID JOHNNY DEPP BLOW THROUGH $650 MILLION?)

Hopefully, he gets his act together soon, and we eventually get to see this movie. It sucks that it’s getting shelved because Depp’s life is spiraling out of control, but that’s Hollywood for you. Let’s just all hope this movie comes out sooner than later because a gritty cop drama about two of the most notorious murders in American history is bound to be entertaining.
