12-Foot Great White Shark Surprises Researcher When It Jumps Right Out Of The Water In ‘Wild’ Video
A 12-foot great white shark gave one researcher quite a surprise when he leaped out of the water at him during an outing in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.
Researchers from the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy were out on a boat when the giant shark jumped out of the water, headed straight biologist’s feet in the video that surfaced Wednesday.
That day the group had headed out with a GoPro camera mounted on a painters pole in hopes of capturing from underwater footage, when the researcher clearly got the surprise of his life, according to Time magazine.
“Whoa! Holy crap,” Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries Dr. Greg Skomal can be heard exclaiming.”It jumped right out of the water!”
Another person in the background can be overheard saying, “Did you see that?”
“He jumped right up — right at my feet!” Skomal responded.
Later, the team warned that “white sharks are wild and unpredictable animals. This is a good reminder of the importance of not becoming complacent and always staying vigilant when in or on the water.”
