The First AP College Football Poll Of The Year Is Here — No. 4 Will Surprise You

David Hookstead | Reporter

The first AP college football poll of the year was released Monday.

The top 10 teams are as follows:

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Georgia
  4. Wisconsin
  5. Ohio State
  6. Washington
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Miami
  9. Auburn
  10. Penn State

This is a great first poll for the Big Ten and the SEC. Both teams put three teams in the top 10. You can’t ask for much more than that to start the year.

It’s even better for the Big Ten because Michigan State checked in at 11 and Michigan checked in at 14. Not too bad to have four teams in the top 14. That’s pretty damn impressive if you ask anybody who knows anything about football. (RELATEDSEC FANS DON’T LIKE TO USE FACTS WHEN DISCUSSING COLLEGE FOOTBALL)

How about my Badgers coming in at number four? It’s about time we started getting some of the respect that we deserve. Nobody ever wanted to show us some love, and now we’re the sexy woman at the bar. Everybody wants a piece of our magic. No thanks. If you weren’t with us on day one, then I don’t want you here now. (RELATED: THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL WORLD SHOULD FEAR WISCONSIN FOR ONE SIMPLE REASON)

Sound off in the comments with what you think of the first poll, and what teams surprise you! Plus, we’re only days away. Get excited.
