Paris Jackson Could Face Prison Time For Posing For This Magazine

Paris Jackson could face jail time for her recent appearance in Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, a country where same-sex relationships are against the law.

The 20-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson graced the Asian fashion magazine’s cover this month, but not everyone was happy for the bisexual icon.

Surprisingly, of the least happiest for Jackson was a gay rights writer.

Gay Star News writer Jamie Tabberer published an op-ed titled, “Paris Jackson’s Harper’s Bazaar Singapore Cover Is Hypocritical,” shames the rising star for posing for a magazine produced for a country that still considers homosexual acts illegal.

“Gay sex is illegal in Singapore. When asked if she was bi last month, Paris – a self-confessed LGBTI activist – said ‘I guess.’ What’s wrong here?” Tabberer writes.

Jackson fired back on Twitter on Sunday.

“i didn’t know, i am sorry. i was grateful for the opportunity, but i’ll delete the post now. i don’t want to be hypocritical or hurt anyone, and my support for my fellow LGBTQ+ community comes first before my love for fashion and gratitude for this opportunity. again, i’m sorry.”

“i would like to add though that someone that is openly apart of the community being on the cover in a country against the community, should be celebrated. isn’t that a step forward? again, i am deeply sorry. i didn’t mean to be hypocritical or hurt anyone.”

Jackson’s cover hits shelves later this month.
