Superstar Rapper Arrested. Here’s What We Know
Rapper Young Thug was taken into custody Friday night at a Dave & Buster’s on a weapons charge.
CBS Los Angeles reported the following:
The rapper and two members of his entourage were taken out of the restaurant/video game arcade and taken to the LAPD’s Hollywood station. Young Thug was later taken downtown for a minor, pre-existing medical condition.
Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon. He posted $35,000 bail a few hours later and was released.
Police say weapons have been recovered.
This doesn’t sound like a good situation at all. According to the same CBS report, police have been following Young Thug for some time for a weapons investigation. (RELATED: STAR RAPPER ARRESTED. THE REASON WHY IS EXTREMELY DISTURBING)
In all honesty, arresting a guy at a Dave & Buster’s is a pretty low move. Everybody is there to just play some arcade games, eat some great food, celebrate a good time and relax. Nobody goes to Dave & Buster’s expecting to get put in handcuffs. It’s just not right! As a society, we have to have some places that a simply off-limits, and I think restaurants with arcade games have to be at the top of the list.
As for Young Thug, he makes some solid music, but he won’t be able to do that from behind bars. We need to spring him ASAP from these criminal charges. Besides, the rap game is all about being a gangster, and I’m pretty sure weapons are a part of that. Am I condoning anything illegal Young Thug might have done? Of course not, but we’d be foolish to pretend this isn’t great for his street credibility, which is more important than just about anything else in the industry.
P.S. Young Thug’s song “With Them” is an absolute jam.
