Anonymous Coach Accuses Nick Saban And Alabama Of Cheating. Here’s What He Said
An anonymous coach took a shot at Alabama football coach Nick Saban during a recent profile of “candid coaches.”
The unnamed coach said the following:
“If you had the no. 1 recruiting class in the country every year [you’d win like Nick Saban]. He shows up at every single game with a better roster than the teams he ‘s playing … If you count cheating and getting the best players in the country as part of running a program, he’s the best in the country. It’s like saying an NFL coach is the best coach in the league if he gets 25 first-round picks every year.”
Are you kidding me? This is such a coward move. You damn well better put your name on something like this if you want to accuse a coach of cheating.
It’s an embarrassment to this great country that I even have to write this piece. Everybody knows I have my fair share of problems with the SEC, Alabama and Saban. That’s not a secret, and I’ve never run from it. But even I will rush to the defense of anybody when they’re accused of being a cheater by a coward who won’t even attach their name to such a claim. It makes me want to vomit. (RELATED: SEC FANS DON’T LIKE TO USE FACTS WHEN DISCUSSING COLLEGE FOOTBALL)
Do you know what you do if Saban wins more than you like? You go out there, field a better team and beat him. This is football. It’s not rocket science. There’s nothing wrong with anonymous sources as a whole, but I have a serious problem when they’re used to trash somebody. Put your name on it! This just stinks of somebody who is jealous and envious, and we all know envy doesn’t look great on anybody. Be better next time, anonymous coaches everywhere.
