‘House Of Cards’ Star Says Kevin Spacey Deserves Another Chance

“House Of Cards” star Robin Wright believes Kevin Spacey should get a second chance.

Wright, who plays Frank Underwood’s wife Claire in the hit Netflix series, told the Porter Edit this week that Kevin Spacey was treated unfairly after allegations of him sexually assaulting underage boys came out last fall. “I don’t know how to comment on that [situation]. I really don’t,” she explained. “I believe every human being has the ability to reform … In that sense, second chances, or whatever you are going to call it — absolutely. I believe in that. It’s called growth.”

Wright added:

I feel sorry for anybody whose life is in the public arena. It’s a nightmare. Can you imagine? We do a job, we share [a performance] with viewers. Why does our private life have to be public? I hate that part of this industry. It’s so invasive. I believe everyone’s personal life should be personal. Positive, negative, neutral, whatever — I don’t believe it should be anybody’s business. But I’m not talking about the [#MeToo] movement. I’m talking about media. The exposure. It’s an awful feeling. A stranger deciding they know who you are … I mean, it’s criminal. It really is.

It is pretty bizarre that law enforcement would ever want to “invade” Spacey’s life by investigating potential sex crimes he committed against minors. Can you believe the audacity police across the world have, for even daring to look into such a thing? Why can’t we just let Kevin Spacey live and let him allegedly diddle all the little boys he wants in peace? Why can’t we let him, Harvey Weinstein, and all the other alleged sex offenders in Hollywood just live their lives and make millions of dollars? Who cares if they’re using their power to take advantage of vulnerable people?

I’m just glad someone is finally standing up for Kevin Spacey. Sure, he may have had up to 20 sexual harassment complaints leveled against him but it ruined his career. Robin Wright is right. He’s not the real criminal. The media is.
