The Latest AP College Football Poll Is Here. The 4th-Ranked Team Might Surprise You

David Hookstead | Reporter

The latest AP Top 25 poll has arrived, and Alabama still is sitting at the top.

The top ten are as follows:

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Georgia
  4. Ohio State
  5. Wisconsin
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Auburn
  8. Notre Dame
  9. Washington
  10. Stanford

Ohio State got a nice bump up from five to four after blowing out Oregon State, but you could argue that both them and Wisconsin aren’t getting the respect they deserve. Georgia played Austin Peay, and won in decisive fashion. But it’s Austin Peay. Who really cares?

Ohio State blew out Oregon State and Wisconsin beat Western Kentucky by 31. Both teams are much better than Austin Peay, and both wins — in my humble opinion — are more impressive. Once again, the Big Ten is just getting walked all over in the respect department. (RELATED: THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL WORLD SHOULD FEAR WISCONSIN FOR ONE SIMPLE REASON)

I’m also a bit surprised Auburn only found their way up to seven after beating Washington. They looked damn good in that game. Are they a top-five team? I have no idea, but the Tigers looked formidable against a very good Washington squad.
