Fox Sports Host Has Amazing Comments About Internet Trolls [VIDEO]

Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd had some amazing thoughts about criticism on the internet, and it’s worth listening to.

“When I got into this business, my late mother once went on the internet and she said, ‘People hate you.’ And I said, ‘Mhm.’ And I’m comfortable with that, and so is Kanye West and Howard Stern and Rachel Maddow and Rush Limbaugh and the Kardashians and our president. Some people are built to withstand discomfort. Some people are built to withstand discomfort,” Cowherd said during a recent segment on “The Herd” about Colin Kaepernick’s deal with Nike.

I agree with every word Cowherd had to say when it comes to the criticism stuff. I won’t wade into the Nike/Kaepernick stuff here, but he’s 100-percent correct about the criticism angle.

If you want to be successful, you have to be willing to take a few bullets along the way. It’s just the nature of reality and the name of the game. You think anybody gets to the top of a mountain by just magically showing up? Hell no. We’re up here grinding it out before the sun is even up.

With success comes critics. That’s just life. People see things they want but don’t have, and they don’t always react in the best of ways. (RELATED: THE SMOKE ROOM’S STATE OF THE UNION: IT’S OFFICIALLY BEEN THREE YEARS SINCE I BEGAN THIS JOURNEY)

Case and point, I get dragged on the internet on a regular basis for my college football takes. If I didn’t have thick skin I wouldn’t be here writing the hottest takes in the game. But even when I’m completely correct, I still get dragged, and I love it. It’s all part of the journey.

Do you notice the big difference between people like Howard Stern and his critics? Stern is flush with cash and has made a huge impact on the industry he’s in. Nobody even knows the names of his critics. It’s really that simple.

Some of us will rise to the top, and we’ll get there no matter what. Our critics will keep sipping on energy drinks in their parents’ basements. What a life to be living.
