Is This Alabama Team Potentially The Greatest Saban Has Ever Had? The Answer Is Simple
Nick Saban might have the most talented Crimson Tide football team he’s ever had this year, and it all comes down to sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
What is the one knock that has dogged Saban’s teams since he arrived in Tuscaloosa? It’s very simple. He’s been able to get elite talent at every position, other than under center at quarterback. The greatest quarterback he had before Tua was A.J. McCarron, who has struggled to get reps in the NFL since getting drafted back in 2014. Now, he’s got a team loaded with talent all over the field and he has one of the top quarterbacks in America. That changes everything.
Everybody who watched that game against Louisville could just tell something was different. Anybody with eyes could see that Tua was playing on a different level. He was making reads and throws that I’ve never seen an Alabama quarterback make before.

The speed at which he makes decisions is unbelievable. He was throwing strikes against the Cardinals that were coming too fast for the defense to even react to. They had no hope. It was Tua’s game and everybody was at his mercy.
If Tua keeps playing like he did in Week 1, I think it’s safe to say that Nick Saban has the most talented team he’s ever had.
