Michael Jordan opened up his checkbook for victims of Hurricane Florence.

According to TMZ, the Chicago Bulls legend is donating a million dollars to the American Red Cross and another million to the Foundation For The Carolinas’ Hurricane Florence Response fund.

Once again, Michael Jordan has shown that he is one of the greatest people in sports. Plenty of people are pitching in, but not many are dishing out a couple million dollars.

Hopefully, more people follow the example of the Charlotte Hornets owner and open up their wallets to help out. (RELATED: WATCH THE MOMENT A WEATHERMAN HAD TO EVACUATE ON LIVE TV)

It’s going to take years to recover from Florence; lives have been lost, homes have been destroyed, and every little bit of help matters. Props to Jordan for leading the way with his money. That’s one hell of an example to set.
