Rapper Sues Woman Over Alleged Fake Rape Accusations And Pregnancy Claims. The Details Are Wild

Drake has slapped Layla Lace with a lawsuit after she reportedly claimed that he got her pregnant and threatened him with a fake rape claim.

The superstar rapper reportedly had sex with Lace during his Boy Meets World Tour in Manchester, England, according to TMZ. Things to a nasty turn, however, when he refused to bring her along for the rest of the tour. What followed were claims of pregnancy and allegedly threatening to accuse him of rape if he didn’t pay up.

TMZ reported the following details:

According to the lawsuit, Layla switched tactics and went to authorities in New York and alleged Drake had raped her during their one-night stand. Drake says at that point, Layla hired a new lawyer who demanded money or else they would make the rape complaint public.

According to the suit, the case was referred to Manchester police, who interviewed Drake and ultimately cleared him.

But, according to Drake … it wasn’t over. He says in the suit, Layla then demanded millions of dollars in exchange for silence.

Drake is suing her for civil extortion, emotional distress, fraud, defamation, and abuse of process.

This situation sounds absolutely awful, and he should rake her over the coals if she’s guilty of trying to extort him for money. False rape accusations are one of the worst things that can happen to somebody, and they should be treated as such. I’m not too familiar with the laws in England, but filing a false police report has to be illegal, right? (RELATED: DRAKE DONATES NEARLY $1 MILLION FOR ‘GOD’S PLAN’ MUSIC VIDEO)

This should also serve as a massive wakeup call to celebrities everywhere. There are people out there who are just looking to scam you out of money. Do not just randomly engage in sex with people you don’t know. Most of the time, you won’t have a huge problem, but sometimes there is impending doom on the horizon. I think that’s a pretty fair assessment of what happened here.

Drake wouldn’t be in this situation if he exercised a shade more caution. I’m not blaming him for somebody trying to extort him for cash, but situational awareness sometimes needs to be used.

It’s amazing how many bad situations you won’t find yourself in if you apply a little common knowledge.
