The NFL has been taking hits on and off the field over the past few years.

Between the national anthem protests, the dwindling quality of play and other off the field issues, the league’s ratings have been in decline for a variety of reasons. One of those many reasons could be the lack of star-power, particularly at the quarterback position.

Between Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and a few others, there aren’t many veteran quarterbacks left with a long-term brand. But is the NFL overcompensating by implementing even more new rules to protect quarterbacks?
