Basketball Star Gunned Down. Here’s What We Know
LSU basketball player Wayde Sims was shot and killed early Friday morning.
Cops say the junior forward was shot at a Subway restaurant across the street from the SU’s football stadium around 12:30 in the morning.
Sims was transported to a local hospital where he later died from the gunshot wound.
Cops have not said if they’ve identified a suspect or made any arrests at this point. We’re working on getting more details.
These are simply stories that you don’t want to read, and that I don’t want to write. What an absolutely tragic situation. The young man wasn’t even old enough to buy a beer, and now he’s been shot and killed. He was 20 years old and his life is now over. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family members and teammates. (RELATED: Here’s Some Terrifying Footage Of A Man Allegedly Trying To Take Out A Mob Associate [VIDEO])
Hopefully, the people responsible the tragic death of this young man are brought to justice. Death is never easy, and it’s certainly much worse when it involves somebody entering the prime of their life.
I can’t even begin to imagine what those close to him must have gone through this morning when they were notified that he had been shot. As I said above, the people responsible for this need to be found as soon as possible.
Check back for more updates on the situation.
