ESPN Releases Johnny Manziel’s ‘Dear Baker’ Video. It’s A Must-Watch For Football Fans
ESPN released a video Sunday of Johnny Manziel writing a letter to Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.
There have been nonstop comparisons between the two gunslingers, and it’s not hard to see why. Both of them have electric personas, they both won the Heisman and both were first-round draft picks of the Cleveland Browns. I’ve made the comparison many times myself, despite the fact there is also of evidence to prove they’re not as similar as people might lead you to believe.
In the short ESPN video, Johnny Football writes a letter explaining what advice he has for Mayfield and the importance of not taking anything for granted.
At first, I wasn’t really sure why ESPN released this video. Obviously, they made it because anything involving Manziel or Mayfield is bound to draw ratings. (RELATED: HERE’S HOW MANY NFL TEAMS ARE APPARENTLY STILL INTERESTED IN JOHNNY MANZIEL)
This might be a wild thing to say, but Manziel should actually be listened to in this situation. He seems to be fully well aware of the mistakes he made during his short time with the Cleveland Browns and everything that happened in the year afterward. It was a complete train wreck of a situation. You know how you avoid ever finding yourself in a similar spot? You listen to those who came before you.
It’s not really hard to understand at all. Who could provide better advice on how not to make the same mistakes than a man who was bounced out of the league after making bonehead decisions?
Am I saying that Mayfield is only a few short steps away from becoming Manziel? Obviously not, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t lessons he couldn’t learn from. That’s simply part of life.
