The Latest AP College Football Poll Is Here. No. 3 Won’t Make People Happy

David Hookstead | Smoke Room Editor-in-Chief

The newest AP Top 25 poll has arrived, and Ohio State is finally starting to move up.

The top ten teams are as follows:

  1. Alabama
  2. Georgia
  3. Ohio State
  4. Clemson
  5. LSU
  6. Notre Dame
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Auburn
  9. West Virginia
  10. Washington

It’s about damn time Ohio State started getting some respect. Right now, in my eyes, I’d put them at No. 2. But moving up to No. 3 is a little better than being at No. 4 last week. Their game against Penn State was a very tough win in an incredibly hostile environment. I would have called for riots if they hadn’t moved up at all.

I’m glad the voters are finally showing some common sense. It’s still not where they should be, but the Buckeyes moving up is better than nothing. (RELATED: WISCONSIN GETS BACK ON TRACK TO A NATIONAL TITLE AFTER ROLLING THROUGH IOWA)

It’s also pretty nice to see West Virginia move into the top ten after a gritty win against Texas Texas. As I’ve been saying for a very long time, Will Grier is a baller. The man might be the best quarterback in America, and the Mountaineers are rolling behind him.

I can’t wait to see how it all shakes out this upcoming weekend. We’re now getting into the thick of it, and I couldn’t be more excited.
