It Appears Like This Superstar College Quarterback Is On The Move
One of Alabama’s most beloved players ever will apparently finish his career at another school.
Star quarterback Jalen Hurts has entered his name in the transfer portal, meaning other schools are officially allowed to contact him. Hurts led the Crimson Tide offense to back-to-back national championship games, going 26-2 as a starter during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. As a true freshman in 2016, Hurts set the single season Alabama touchdown record with 36 (quarterback Tua Tagovailoa broke that in 2018) and was named the SEC offensive player of the year. However, Hurts passing game regressed the next year and he was benched in the 2017 national championship game for Tua, who led Alabama back to win in overtime.
Many players would have pouted or immediately left the program, but Hurts is unlike any other player to ever wear the Crimson and White. He established his legacy as the back-up quarterback behind Tua this past year, handling his new role with grace and class. His comeback win in the 2018 SEC Championship game against the same team in the same stadium he was benched in a year ago cemented Hurts as an integral part of the history of college football’s most storied program.

Wherever he ends up, it’s hard not to root for a guy like Jalen Hurts. He’ll certainly draw plenty of interest as perhaps the most hyped grad transfer in recent memory.
Because he completed his degree at Alabama, Hurts will be eligible to play wherever he wants in 2019.
