Florida State will take the field against Boise State August 31 in a primetime game on ESPN.
The news was announced Thursday afternoon, and the SEC could learn a thing or two from the Seminoles when it comes to scheduling non-conference games.

While Alabama is scheduling the likes of a bad Duke team and New Mexico State, the Seminoles are playing one of the best teams outside of the Power Five in the history of football.
The Broncos have won 31 games over the past three seasons. The juggernaut that is New Mexico State has won a staggering 13 games over the same time period, and Duke has notched 19 wins.
Boise is out here putting up Ws and FSU is willing to take on the challenge. The same can’t be said for the Crimson Tide and the rest of the SEC.

Sure, the Seminoles didn’t have a great season last year, but they’re still not afraid of a challenge. That’s a foreign attitude for everybody in the SEC.

I might not be an FSU fan, but I’ll never be afraid to tip my cap to a team willing to schedule tough games. When Alabama does the same, then I’ll applaud them too.
Until that happens, the SEC is a conference that plays eight games against each other and then usually four cupcakes.
My friends, that’s nothing to be proud of.
