Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” was a massive hit at the Cannes Film Festival during its initial showing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Tuesday afternoon, the film got a six-minute standing ovation after it finished the screening at the film festival and had “deafening cheers.”

The plot of the highly-anticipated filmaccording to a description from Sony Pictures Entertainment, is as follows:

Quentin Tarantino’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.

The film will also focus on the infamous Charles Manson cult and the murder of Sharon Tate, who is played by star actress Margot Robbie.

I think it’s fair to say “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” might be the most anticipated film we’ve ever had from Tarantino, and it warms my soul to know it got such a huge ovation.

Six minutes! That is insanely long. Run a six-minute timer on your phone right now, and then imagine people reportedly cheering with “deafening” noise from start to finish. (RELATED: Check Out Photos Of Brad Pitt And Leonard DiCaprio On The Set Of The Charles Manson Film)

If that doesn’t make your expectations sky high, then I really don’t know what would.

The film hits theaters July 26, and it sounds like it’s going to be absolutely lit. With star power like Pitt, DiCaprio, Robbie and Tarantino attached, I’d be shocked if it wasn’t awesome.
