Actor Bill Cosby took to Twitter to share a Father’s Day message Sunday, sparking massive online backlash.

The tweet, which was posted from the disgraced actor’s account, sparked backlash across social media. Meanwhile, Cosby is reportedly in jail serving out his three to 10 year prison sentence.

“Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s Dad…,” Cosby wrote. “I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads… It’s an honor to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose — strengthening our families and communities.” (RELATED: Bill Cosby Sentenced To 3 To 10 Years In Prison For Sexual Assault)

The tweet left many Twitter users wondering how exactly the post made it on the internet considering the “Cosby Show” actor is in prison. Cosby requested a message be posted from his account for Father’s Day, a representative for Cosby told USA Today.

Other users noted the irony of Cosby referring to himself as “America’s Dad.”

Cosby may have had good intentions, but it seems like his attempt at sending a warming Father’s Day message fell flat.

Maybe if you’ve been convicted of sexual assault, a Father’s Day message isn’t the best thing to post, especially if you’re going to refer to yourself as “America’s Dad.” He lost that title the moment the judge pronounced him guilty of sexual assault.
