Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy reportedly doesn’t know the names of several players on his team.
Gundy has been in the news nonstop ever since the Cowboys coach was pictured wearing a One America News Network shirt, which resulted in Chuba Hubbard threatening to boycott the team. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
I will not stand for this.. This is completely insensitive to everything going on in society, and it’s unacceptable. I will not be doing anything with Oklahoma State until things CHANGE. https://t.co/psxPn4Khoq

Now, we’re learning that he apparently doesn’t know the name of everyone who throws the pads on for him. Yahoo Sports wrote the following on Gundy allegedly not knowing the names of players:
One of the most consistent points of contention in the program was the players’ perception that Gundy didn’t know many of the players’ names, which resulted in awkward interactions around the facility.
In media interviews, Gundy has spent years referring to the younger players on his roster by their jersey number. And even the best players felt like Gundy had become so far removed from the program that they couldn’t build a relationship with him.
Honestly, you’re just lying to yourself if you don’t find this at least a little bit funny. First off, being a football coach isn’t like being a basketball coach.
A basketball coach has less than 20 guys he has to deal with once you add up the roster, coaches and support staff. That number for a football coach easily pushes past 125 and could be around 150. The idea that Gundy is going to know everyone is just unrealistic.
If you can’t laugh at the optics of a freshman walking up to Gundy and the legendary coach not knowing who he is, then you just don’t have a sense of humor.

I feel bad for Gundy. I’m a huge fan of his, and I think he’s one of the most entertaining men in all sports. The dude rocks a mullet and talks about how snowflakes and liberals are ruining America.
It’s like if Kenny Powers got his hands on a major college football program.

He never should have apologized for the OAN shirt and I’m now afraid that he’s going to dial it back. I hope I’m wrong because football is better when Gundy is giving us his unfiltered thoughts.

Stay strong, Mike! Football needs Gundy torqued up to 100!
