I banged out the premiere of “Big Sky,” and it wasn’t too bad.

I’ll keep this review spoiler free as usual for those of you who don’t want anything ruined before jumping into ABC’s new show. All I’ll say is that there is a monster twist in the closing seconds, but I’ll leave it there. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

Here’s what I will say. “Big Sky” is a pretty fun show one episode in. The premise follows a couple private detectives looking for some missing women.

Simple enough, right? It’s not exactly a new idea, but it’s always a fun one.

Here’s the thing about “Big Sky” that everyone should know going in. It’s a ton of fun as long as you’re willing to not take it seriously.

As long as you can hit a switch in your brain, understand it’s a bit out there and just embrace the Ryan Phillippe show for what it is, then you’re going to have fun.

Does it require you to think or question things like “True Detective” did back in the day on HBO? Not even close, but that’s okay.

“Big Sky” doesn’t need to be “True Detective.”

I mean, “Big Sky” is a ton of fun as long as you’re not looking for a ton of depth. If you’re expecting that, then you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

One of the opening scenes is women screaming about an affair. So, that’s all you need to know about how serious you should take “Big Sky.”

It’s fun, interesting, a shade dark and should be treated as a show meant to entertain you for an hour. It’s nothing less and not much more after the season premiere.

You can catch it Tuesday nights at 10:00 EST on ABC!
