Thursday marks the 16-year anniversary of the infamous brawl between the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers.

On November 19, 2004, all hell broke loose between the Pacers and Pistons as the game winded down. For those of you who might not remember, players were literally fighting fans at one point. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

You can watch the full brawl and all the ensuing chaos unfold in the video below.

We’ve never seen a fight like the “Malice in the Palace” before, and I’m pretty confident we’ll never see one like it again.

Not to be repetitive, but fans were literally throwing punches against members of the Pacers! Average dudes went from drinking beers to brawling with some of the best athletes on the planet.

The best part about the whole brawl is that Ron Artest, who was suspended for the rest of the season, asked Stephen Jackson if they were going to get in trouble.

Yes, an NBA player who just wrapped up brawling with the spectators wanted to know whether or not there was a real chance they might get punished.

As Jackson said, the Pacers would be lucky if they were still employed.

It’s truly hard to believe that was already 16 years ago. Time sure does fly by.
