The XFL is in talks with the Canadian Football League.

XFL president and CEO Jeffrey Pollack stated the following in a release:

This is a genius idea from XFL and CFL. The CFL has a rich football history, millions of fans, teams that have existed for a long time and it’s a known brand.
The XFL is new, doesn’t have a dedicated fanbase, doesn’t have a rich history but is located in America, which is obviously a huge advantage.

If the two sides can come together to form a league that is played in Canada and America, there could be an outrageous amount of success.
The XFL has also halted the plans for a 2022 season until the situation with the CFL is figured out, which makes me think a deal is going to happen.

I don’t mind that the CFL plays with three downs and on a larger field, but they should drop all of that if it means they can merge with the XFL.
Play with American rules, and I think you’re going to find that the two sides merging together could result in an awesome outcome for football fans.
After all, the XFL was on its way to be great before coronavirus shut it down. Let’s get back to that.
