“We didn’t feel like we were going to do traditional practices where you’re doing an actual team. With that, why waste one of those spots on somebody that we knew wasn’t going to be here? We would rather use one of those spots and let’s bring in a tight end, let’s bring in a defensive back, let’s bring in a corner. Let’s get eyes on somebody we think can make this roster,” Campbell explained when talking about the decision to play assistant coaches as quarterbacks.

When Dan Campbell first got hired, people joked about how the former NFL player might suit up himself to win games.
I guess those jokes weren’t that far enough because it only took until the team made it to rookie training camp before the coaches were out there playing.

I’m sure some purists out there are complaining about the fact Campbell didn’t burn spots with QBs who had no shot of making the team.
I love it. The dude is willing to send paid staff members out there to play QB in order to get the job done.
