Mac McClung is headed to the NBA.

The former Texas Tech and Georgetown star announced Monday that he’ll remain in the NBA draft and forgo the rest of his college eligibility. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

This decision really doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. McClung is a very solid college player, but there’s not much about his game that makes me think he’ll be a star in the NBA.

In fact, I’d argue that there’s pretty nothing about his game that makes me think he’ll even last in the NBA.

Now, he might be a solid player overseas or in the G-League, but that’s a lot different than sticking around in the NBA.

He’s not very big or tall, guards in the NBA are just as athletic as he is and he’s far from an elite shooter.

That doesn’t add up to being a great NBA prospect.

I hope he has an updated passport because he’s likely going to need it.
