Evan Peters liked the ending of the latest “Mare of Easttown” episode.

At the end of the latest episode, Peters’ character detective Colin Zabel was shot in the head and killed as he and Mare searched the house of a possible suspect in the case of two missing women. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

There’s no doubt at all that it was one of the most shocking moments in recent TV memory as we literally didn’t expect a main character to do with so much time on the clock. He went to unclip his holster and he was dead before getting a shot off.

What did Peters think about the ending of the episode? He liked how real it was.

“I like the idea that he gets shot because it’s so real. That’s the way sickness and death is. It hits you in the most unexpected ways. You never plan to get sick. You never plan to die. It all just happens,” Peters told The New York Times in a recent interview following the episode airing.

I’m three days removed from the episode, and I still can’t believe Peters’ character is dead. It’s not just that he’s dead.

It’s that the episode was casually moving along, him and Mare stop at a house and then it was lights out for the detective.

Now, we sit and wait for the second to last episode of the hit series. I can’t wait!
