Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is reportedly on the verge of an adjusted deal with the Packers.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the new agreement would void the final year of Rodgers’ contract, the team would agree to review his status at the end of the upcoming season and “mechanisms” will be created to “to address Rodgers’ issues with the team.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

As Schefter pointed out, the situation appears to be being crafted in a way to let Rodgers leave at the end of the upcoming season if he still wants out of Green Bay.

The hope is to have the new deal done before camp starts Tuesday.

As I’ve said many times, the situation between the Packers and Rodgers has been rapidly evolving and this is just the latest sign of that fact.

It appeared like things were trending in the direction of Rodgers returning and it now sounds like it’s nearly a done deal.

All things considered, the adjusted deal seems to work well for Rodgers. He’s committing to one more season in Green Bay and then he can leave if he wants to.

At this point, it seems like that’s the best offer on the table he’s going to get.

Packers fans better soak up this season because it sounds like it’s the final ride with Aaron Rodgers.
