Well, according to Dennis Dodd, the Big 12 believes the AAC intends to try to take all eight members. At the moment, there are 11 football teams in the AAC.
If all eight remaining Big 12 teams go to the American, then it’ll have a staggering 19 teams.
Big 12 now believes the American is attempting to take all eight remaining members. Earlier report said “3-5” Big 12 members were being solicited Bob Bowlsby told CBS Sports. Story up soon.

This chaos is honestly starting to get out of control. It was already out of control the moment Texas and Oklahoma decided to jump ship.
If the remaining eight Big 12 teams just leave the conference for the AAC, you’re going to see a situation I’m not sure anyone could have ever envisioned.

Remember, ESPN is also on the hook for a ton of money to the Big 12 as long as the conference is up and running, and nobody is going to be watching with Oklahoma and Texas gone.
That means ESPN has every incentive in the world to cheer and support the AAC pillaging the Big 12, even if they won’t admit it.
Big 12’s “cease & desist” to ESPN claims network contacted other conferences “encouraging” them to take Big 12 schools so Big 12 dissolves, eliminating grant of rights, sources told @Stadium. If Big 12 implodes, ESPN not responsible for final 4 years of deal, worth $1.06 billion
