College GameDay will reportedly be in Annapolis for week two of the college football season.

According to Bill Wagner, the popular ESPN event will be at the Navy/Air Force game September 11, which is the 20-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

If this report holds true, then it’s a great decision from everyone involved. I’ve seen up close just how awesome GameDay is as an event.

The Friday before the Army/Navy game in 2019, I traveled up to Philadelphia to interview Rece Davis and David Pollack and to tour the set.

It was an awesome experience and it was a very in-depth look at how great GameDay is as a show and event.

Furthermore, there’s something extra special about the service academies when they compete against each other in college football.

Air Force, Navy and Army don’t really have a realistic shot at winning a national title, but they do represent the country as a whole.

On September 11, the Falcons and Midshipmen will take the field on the 20-year anniversary of 9/11 and I can’t think of a better location for GameDay to be.
