Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer is reportedly staying in the NFL.

With Notre Dame looking for a new coach, there’s been some speculation the three-time national champion might return to the college ranks, but it’s apparently not in the cards. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

According to Michael DiRocco, Meyer isn’t interested in returning to the college level and is solely focused on the Jaguars.

This development shouldn’t surprise anyone. It shouldn’t surprise anyone at all. Meyer is simply too old to be going back to college.

At this point in his career, it’s the Jaguars or bust. I thought Meyer should go back to college, but he clearly has no interest.

If he did, he probably would have dipped when the dancing video came out.

Instead, he stuck it out with the Jaguars and it’s now borderline impossible to see him coming back, especially to Notre Dame.

Coaching the Fighting Irish is a great job, but it’s not good enough to lure him back. It’s just not a top five job.

I guess Notre Dame will simply have to look elsewhere for their new coach!
