Miami coach Mario Cristobal is reportedly being paid a ton of money to coach the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes officially hired the former Oregon coach Monday afternoon after firing Manny Diaz, and he’s being very well-compensated. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

According to Barry Jackson, Cristobal’s contract with the team is for 10 years and he’ll earn an average annual salary of $8 million.

That means his deal is worth $80 million! That’s a ton of money.

In case you didn’t all already know, the amount of money being thrown around in college football right now is outrageous.

Programs are in an arms race for national titles, and money is the main weapon. Miami has made it clear they’re willing to spend a lot to make sure Cristobal leads the Hurricanes, and they got their man!

Now, Cristobal will have to start stacking up wins in order to justify his absolutely insane contract. If you’re making $8 million annually, fans want 10+ win seasons at a minimum.

The floor is a 10-2 regular season and the ceiling is a national title. Those are the expectations that are tied to an $80 million contract.

Let’s see how he does!
