It sounds like people should enjoy Charles Barkley on TV while it lasts because his time is nearing an end.

Barkley is the face of the NBA on TNT, and he’s honestly become substantially more famous for his skills as a commentator than he was for playing basketball. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

That’s saying something because he was a hell of an NBA star, but it sounds like Barkley is gearing up to call it quits on being a TV star.

During a Thursday interview with Pat McAfee, the former Suns and 76ers star revealed he has two years left on his deal and when it’s done, he might call it a show. He also added that it’s not his goal to “drop dead on television.”

You can watch him break it all down below.

It’s going to be a hell of a sad day whenever Barkley decides that he’s going to hang it up. It’s going to be a very sad day for basketball fans everywhere.

Honestly, watching Barkley on TV is substantially more entertaining than watching actual NBA games. Everything he says and does is worth paying attention to.

In an era where authenticity is about as rare as a dinosaur sighting, Barkley is never afraid to give you his blunt thoughts, and that’s why fans love him.

So, let’s all take a moment to appreciate and be grateful for Barkley’s refreshing take and awesome job on TV. It’s going to be a damn shame when it’s over.
