Why do I feel like this is a dysfunctional New York Jets story waiting to happen?
While speaking with the media Wednesday, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced that the franchise is opening the 21-day practice window of their quarterback Aaron “Peg Leg Pete” Rodgers. Saleh also told reporters that Rodgers is clear for “functional football activity” and that he will be participating in individual drills, per NFL.com.
Still on injured reserve for now, Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles back in Week 1 action against the Buffalo Bills. Despite the original reports about it being a season-ending injury, Rodgers has said multiple times that he plans on returning this season as the starting quarterback of the Jets.

Judging by social media, I think we all know what’s about to happen here:

Let’s take another look at that meat, by the way. Lord have mercy, that ish looks so good:

But yeah, it’s pretty much like this:

The New York Jets aren’t just setting up Aaron Rodgers for failure and more pain (and potentially another surgery), but they’re also setting up to give us yet another dysfunctional story in dysfunctional New York Jets history.
But carry on … because y’all already know I have my popcorn ready as a fan of the AFC East champion Miami Dolphins.
